Civil Wedding in Bodø City Hall

Here you can find information on how to book time for civil wedding ceremonies in the City Hall.
Civil wedding ceremonies takes place in Blåsalen in the City Hall Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm.
How to get married?
In order to get married, you need to do two things:
- Book time for the wedding ceremony.
- Apply for a certificate of no impediment to enter into marriage (prøvingsattest). The certificate is valid for 4 months, and has to be valid on the day of the wedding.
You can book time for the wedding ceremony online. Click here for online booking. The online booking is only available in Norwegian. This process takes about 5 to 6 weeks. Make sure you allow plenty of time for this to be processed before the wedding date. You need to send or deliver the certificate of no impediment to enter into marriage to us at least three weeks before the wedding ceremony. Addresses: If you or your partner have a registered address in Bodø or you both live abroad the civil wedding ceremony is free. If you have a registered address in other Norwegian municipalities than Bodø the price for the wedding ceremony is NOK 750.Book time for the wedding ceremony

Who will perform the ceremony?
After the ceremony, you will receive a temporary marriage certificate. A final certificate will be issued later by the Norwegian Tax Administration.Marriage certificate
