• You must be the bearer of a valid working and residence permit
• You must provide us with copies of your diplomas and certificates.
• You must provide us with confirmation of your foreign education, issued by NOKUT, www.nokut.no/en/
• If the position you are applying for demands any form of authorization, this must be provided to us. Note: This is particularly required by health personell. The state’s authorization office can provide you with such authorization, visit www.helsedirektoratet.no/english/authorisation-and-license-for-health-personnel

Citizens from the Scandinavian countries have automatic working- and residence permit.

Citizens from the EU and EEA-countries do not have to apply for residence permit. However, they must registrer at their local police office if they wish to reside in Norway for more than three months.

Citizens from all other countries outside of the EU/EEA must have a written and confirmable offer of employment to be granted a residence permit in Norway.

Conditions to get an approved residence permit may vary according to what position or profession it regards to.

People looking for work - both Norwegian and foreign - that have an education from another country, must forward their confirmation from NOKUT before their first day at work.

In some professions, you are required to document authorization given by an official government in order to get a job in Norway (for instance teacher og nurse).

«Statens autorisasjonskontor» (The Norwegian authorization office) for health care personell is a sub department of «Helsedirektoratet» (Directorate of health) and can provide you with the required authorization.

For a permanent position as a school teacher, you are required to have confirmation of competence as a teacher from «Utdanningsdirektoratet» (Directorate of education). Preschool teachers must have a confirmation of competence demonstrating their competence as pedadogical leaders for a permanent position, which is also provided by «Utdanningsdirektoratet» (Directorate of education).

For some positions, we require a potential employee to provide a satisfactory criminal record certificate. This is required by - but not limited to; school, kindergarten, and within healthcare services.

The criminal record certificate must show that the potential employee is not prosecuted, accused or convicted of criminal charges covered by the current regulations for the position. You are required to provide this certificate before you are allowed to start working.
